Henry Lin, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Henry Lin grew up in Taiwan and Southern California. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with College Honors from UCLA. Dr. Lin then received a full scholarship to join the Medical Scientist Training Program at SUNY Buffalo, through which he earned his MD, PhD (neuroscience), and MS (epidemiology) degrees, and was also awarded the Thomas J. Guttuso Award for academic excellence in ophthalmology. Dr. Lin subsequently completed his ophthalmology residency at SUNY Buffalo, followed by subspecialty fellowship training in uveitis and medical retinal disease at the National Eye Institute, National Institutes of Health. Dr. Lin has published peer-reviewed articles on diverse topics ranging from behavioral economic factors associated with energy intake and obesity, to the effects of dietary carotenoid intake on early age-related macular degeneration. He has also authored an invited review on autoimmune retinopathy and a book chapter on acute zonal occult outer retinopathy. In his free time, Dr. Lin enjoys spending time with his family, reading broadly, and traveling. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
