INSTRUCTIONS AFTER INTRAVITREAL INJECTIONS

1. Soon after the intravitreal injection, the eye may feel slightly uncomfortable and you may experience burning. As the day goes on, it would be normal to feel irritation, burning, a scratchy feeling, and tearing. Over the counter lubricant eye ointment and/or Artificial tear drops can be used to soothe the eye.

2. Usually after a nights sleep, by the next morning, the eye feels 60-70% better. As the day continues, the eye should continue to feel better. On the second day after the injection, the eye should feel almost back to normal.

3. A red spot or area of blood at the injection site is normal.

4. It is normal to have floaters after the injection.

5. You should continue any other eye drops you are using regularly unless otherwise instructed by the doctor.

Instill Lubricant Eye Ointment as needed for pain and irritation after injection.
